Iwilltakegreatcare,saidLittleRedRidingHoodtohermother,andgaveherhandonit.

LittleRedRidingHooddidnotknowwhatawickedcreaturehewas,andwasnotatallafraidofhim.

"Agoodquarterofaleaguefartheroninthewood.Herhousestandsunderthethreelargeoak-trees,thenut-treesarejustbelow.Yousurelymustknowit,"repliedLittleRedRidingHood.
Thewolfthoughttohimself,
"Whatatenderyoungcreature.Whataniceplumpmouthful,shewillbebettertoeatthantheoldwoman.Imustactcraftily,soastocatchboth."
SohewalkedforashorttimebythesideofLittleRedRidingHood,andthenhesaid,
"seeLittleRedRidingHood,howprettytheflowersareabouthere.Whydoyounotlookround.
Ibelieve,too,thatyoudonothearhowsweetlythelittlebirdsaresinging.
Youwalkgravelyalongasifyouweregoingtoschool,whileeverythingelseouthereinthewoodismerry."
