AndtheDoctorsaid,"Yes."

SothentheDoctorandallhisanimalswentoff,carryingpailsandsaucepans,tolookforwaterontheisland,whiletheswallowstooktheirrest.
"Iwonderwhatisthenameofthisisland,"saidtheDoctor,ashewasclimbingupthemountainside."Itseemsapleasantplace.Whatalotofbirdsthereare!"
"Why,thesearetheCanaryIslands,"saidDabDab."Don'tyouhearthecanariessinging?"
TheDoctorstoppedandlistened.

Andpresentlythecanaries,whohadheardallaboutDoctorDolittlefrombirdsofpassage,cameandledhimtoabeautifulspringofcool,clearwaterwherethecanariesusedtotaketheirbath;andtheyshowedhimlovelymeadowswherethebirdseedgrewandalltheothersightsoftheirisland.
Andthepushmipullyuwasgladtheyhadcome;becausehelikedthegreengrasssomuchbetterthanthedriedappleshehadbeeneatingontheship.
AndGubGubsqueakedforjoywhenhefoundawholevalleyfullofwildsugarcane.
Alittlelater,whentheyhadallhadplentytoeatanddrink,andwerelyingontheirbackswhilethecanariessangforthem,twooftheswallowscamehurryingup,veryflusteredandexcited.
"Doctor!"theycried,"thepirateshavecomeintothebay;andthey'veallgotontoyourship.
Theyaredownstairslookingforthingstosteal.
Theyhavelefttheirownshipwithnobodyonit.
Ifyouhurryandcomedowntotheshore,youcangetontotheirshipwhichisveryfastandescape.Butyou'llhavetohurry."

Andhecalledhisanimalstogetheratonce,saidGoodbytothecanariesandrandowntothebeach.
Whentheyreachedtheshoretheysawthepirateship,withthethreeredsails,standinginthewater;andjustastheswallowshadsaidtherewasnobodyonit;allthepiratesweredownstairsintheDoctor'sship,lookingforthingstosteal.
SoJohnDolittletoldhisanimalstowalkverysoftlyandtheyallcreptontothepirateship.
