Neverthelessthebirdwasdeterminedtosavehimifshecould,andbyonelastmightyeffortshepropelledthenestagainsttherock.

Itdriftedabouttillitwenttopieces,andoftenStarkeycametotheshoreofthelagoon,andwithmanybitterfeelingswatchedthebirdsittingonhishat.
Asweshallnotseeheragain,itmaybeworthmentioningherethatallNeverbirdsnowbuildinthatshapeofnest,withabroadbrimonwhichtheyoungsterstakeanairing.
GreatweretherejoicingswhenPeterreachedthehomeunderthegroundalmostassoonasWendy,whohadbeencarriedhitherandthitherbythekite.
Everyboyhadadventurestotell;butperhapsthebiggestadventureofallwasthattheywereseveralhourslateforbed.
