TheIndianswarilyretracedtheirstepstowardtheplacetheyhadleft,whenthescout,placinghispoleagainstarock,byapowerfulshove,senthisfrailbarkdirectlyintotheturbulentstream. Formanyminutesthestrugglebetweenthelightbubbleinwhichtheyfloatedandtheswiftcurrentwassevereanddoubtful.
