Thistime,oncemore,Ihadthesheeptothankforit.Forthelittleprinceaskedmeabruptly--asifseizedbyagravedoubt--"Itistrue,isn'tit,thatsheepeatlittlebushes?"
"Yes,thatistrue."
"Ah!Iamglad!"
Ididnotunderstandwhyitwassoimportantthatsheepshouldeatlittlebushes.Butthelittleprinceadded:
"Thenitfollowsthattheyalsoeatbaobabs?"
Ipointedouttothelittleprincethatbaobabswerenotlittlebushes,but,onthecontrary,treesasbigascastles;andthatevenifhetookawholeherdofelephantsawaywithhim,theherdwouldnoteatuponesinglebaobab.
Theideaoftheherdofelephantsmadethelittleprincelaugh.
"Wewouldhavetoputthemoneontopoftheother,"hesaid.
