IhaveseriousreasontobelievethattheplanetfromwhichthelittleprincecameistheasteroidknownasB-612. Thisasteroidhasonlyoncebeenseenthroughthetelescope.ThatwasbyaTurkishastronomer,in1909. Onmakinghisdiscovery,theastronomerhadpresentedittotheInternationalAstronomicalCongress,inagreatdemonstration.ButhewasinTurkishcostume,andsonobodywouldbelievewhathesaid. Fortunately,however,forthereputationofAsteroidB-612,aTurkishdictatormadealawthathissubjects,underpainofdeath,shouldchangetoEuropeancostume.Soin1920theastronomergavehisdemonstrationalloveragain,dressedwithimpressivestyleandelegance.Andthistimeeverybodyacceptedhisreport.
